I apologize for the late notice but MSAD 44 will be dismissing all schools at 11:30 today due to the excessive heat. Although unseasonably warm weather is nothing new to Western Maine, the wearing of masks is serving to create additional challenges and this decision is being made out of consideration for the health and safety of our students. We will begin dismissals at 11:30 and students will have lunch prior to departing. Based on predicted weather conditions, this should be the last challenging day we see this year. In addition to today’s temperatures, our buildings retained much of the heat from yesterday, making the conditions that much more difficult.
On a separate note, the Senior Parade will still be held this evening. The parade will leave Telstar at 5:25 and will circle the Bethel Common to congratulate the Class of 2021.
Finally, just a reminder that today is election day. I hope you will take the opportunity to vote and to consider supporting the school budget articles while you are there.
